April 20th, 2012 - Chandler planned to enter a pair of COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) events over the course of the weekend, but Mother Nature forced the cancelation of both events.
On Saturday night the team was able to get their entry ready for action in another $2,000-to-win event, which was held at Diamond Park Speedway (Nashville, Arkansas). Twenty-four cars regsitered for action, and Chandler transferred to the feature from the b-main on the heels of a second place finish. In the main event he would start in the 16th position before advancing five spots to an 11th place finish at the checkered flag. Full results are available at www.COMPDirt.com. April 1st, 2012 - With no touring events scheduled for the weekend, the team entered a single event as they traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Sunday afternoon for a Weekly Racing Series Event at the 3/8 mile oval. Twenty-two Super Late Models were on hand for the program, and in time trials on a dusty surface Petty would manage to qualify thirteenth fastest to lock into the thirteenth starting spot for the feature event. During the course of the event he advanced three spots to a tenth place finish for his first top ten finish of the 2012 campaign. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com. March 24th, 2012 - Saturday night was a frustrating outing for Chandler and the team as they took part in a $2,000-to-win event with the
March 6th, 2012 - The 2012 Tentative Schedule has been posted for Chandler. The team plans to compete on the full COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) tour in 2012 as Chandler pursues the rookie of the year honor.
After starting third in the heat, Petty would receive contact from another competitor on the second lap and slipped back to the fifth spot, which is where he would finish. With only the top four cars transferring to the feature, Petty was relegated to the b-main, and in the b-main he would lead the duration on his way to the win, which earned him the 19th starting spot for the main event. In the 40 lap feature Petty had marched his way up to the 11th position by lap 25, when disaster struck. A piece of debris came through the radiator resulting in a blown motor and a 15th place finish. Full results are available at www.NeSmithRacing.com. Even though they didn't get the results that he wanted out of the final event, Chandler and the entire couldn't be happier about their performance during the 2011 season, and they are busily preparing for an even bigger year in 2012. October 29th, 2011 - After a three week break Chandler was back in action over the weekend as the team traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin' 100. A stellar field of 51 Crate Late Models were on hand for the event, and despite being the 51st car to qualify, Petty would record the 12th fastest lap overall to earn the second starting spot in the sixth heat. On the first lap of the heat Petty would take over the top spot on his way to the heat race win, which he claimed by a straightaway. Via his heat performance, he started sixth in the feature on Saturday night. The team would opt for a soft tire choice for the feature, and that would ultimately hurt them. An early race restart would see Chandler slip from the fifth spot to the eleventh position. As he faded backwards he decided to alter his line as he left the bottom side of the track in favor of the high side. It would prove to be a good move as he rebounded to a seventh place finish at the checkered flag in the $2,500-to-win event. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com. October 8th, 2011 - The team made the trek to Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) over the weekend for the annual Nathan Rettig Memorial. On Friday night, Chandler started second in his heat race and claimed the win to earn the outside front row starting spot for the main event. As the race went green, Petty would maintain the second spot, and would run there until the caution flag flew on lap 8. On the ensuing restart, he would receive contact that caused his right rear tire to go flat. He would duck into the pits before rejoining the tail of the field. As the race resumed green flag conditions, Petty would begin working his way forward again only to get spun by another car on lap 14. He would once again rejoin the tail of the field, but just two laps later he would receive contact again that would result in a flat tire. After a second trip to the pits, Petty tagged the back of the pack, and unbelievably on lap 20, he would be spun again by a competitor. October 1st, 2011 - Chandler returned to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) on Saturday night for another Weekly Racing Series Event. In his heat race Chandler started in the second position and finished second, which resulted in him starting second in the main event. He would have a good handling car for the main event, but would not be able to work his way into the lead. As a result, he would finish second at the finish line. September 24th, 2011 - It was back to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) on Saturday night as a stacked field of sixteen competitors entered the $850-to-win, NeSmith Weekly Crate Late Model event. Heat race action found Chandler starting fourth on the grid, where he would be unable to make up any ground in the preliminary event, which resulted in a fourth place finish, and left him starting seventh in the feature. In the feature event, Petty would quickly work his way into the top five, and would go on to advance to a fourth place finish behind race winner, John Polasini, Duke Palasini, and Cody Kierre. September 17th, 2011 - Saturday night found Chandler facing his toughest competition of the year as he entered a Weekly Racing Series Event at Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) against the top contenders in the NeSmith West Region. With 13 cars on hand, Petty qualified 4th fastest to earn the second starting spot for his heat race. He would race his way to a third place finish in his heat to lock into the sixth starting spot for the feature. During the course of the main event Chandler would advance to a third place finish behind race winner, Jimbo McDuffie, and Duke Palasini, who are the leaders in the NeSmith points. September 10th, 2011 - Saturday night was a career performance for Chandler as he claimed the biggest win of his young Crate Late Model career by topping the $1,000-to-win event at Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas). Heat race action found Petty starting seventh in his heat, but he would quickly work his way forward through the pack to claim the win by eight car lengths. His heat race performance earned him the pole starting spot for the 30 lap main event. Not even three cautions could slow Petty down as he won the feature by half a track over Wesley Crutchfield, Travis Ashley, Kenneth Jackson, and Zane Ferrell. September 3rd, 2011 - After seeing some of the other planned events nixed by rain, the team entered a single race over the holiday weekend as they traveled to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) for a Weekly Racing Series Event on Saturday evening, and the end result of the night would be Petty's eighth feature win of the 2011 season! After starting outside front row in his heat, Petty took the lead on the first lap and raced his way to the win to earn the pole for the feature. As the green flag dropped in the feature, Chandler shot to the lead and would never relinquish it on his way to the feature win! Petty continues to be 10th in the NeSmith Western Division points. August 27th, 2011 - The team made the long trek to Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday night as Chandler entered his first ever event on the "Black Ice" at Magnolia Motor Speedway. A talent-laden field of 23 competitors entered the NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Event on the 3/8 mile oval, and Petty would start the night by qualifying sixth fastest to earn the sixth starting spot for the main event. In the feature, on an extremely slick surface, Petty would battle in the top ten for the duration of the feature before racing his way to an eighth place finish. August 26th, 2011 - Friday night found Chandler at Beebe Speedway (Beebe, Arkansas) as he went into battle with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model tour in the $2,000-to-win event. With 23 entries on hand, Petty would earn the 16th starting spot for the feature event via preliminary action. August 20th, 2011 - On Saturday the team made the trip to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) for a Weekly Racing Series event that drew 25 cars to the 1/4 mile oval. After getting behind the eight ball in time trials by qualifying 18th fastest in the field, Chandler started sixth in his heat race. On the first lap of the heat he was up to the fourth position, when contact from behind resulted in a flat left rear tire and a DNF. As a result, Petty started 24th in the feature and worked his way to a 12th place finish before the race was ended early for going over the time limit. Full results are available at www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net. August 6th, 2011 - Saturday night found the team at Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) for a NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Event. After advancing from the third starting spot to a second place finish in heat race action, Chandler started on the front for the feature and won by over a straightaway! It was a great night for the team as they had their best car of the year, on the way to their seventh win of the season. July 30th, 2011 - Chandler Petty Motorsports entered a single event over the weekend as they traveled to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) for a NeSmith Weekly Late Model Series Event. After starting third in his heat race and advancing to a second place finish, Petty started second in the feature. He would challenge the leader for the duration of the event, but with a one groove track and a leader that was blocking, Chandler was forced to settle for a second place finish at the checkered flag. July 23rd, 2011 - After being rained out at Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas), Chandler traveled to Centerville Speedway (Centerville, Arkansas) on Saturday night for a Weekly Racing Series Event. Heat race action found Petty starting seventh on the grid before advancing to a second place finish. With an invert in effect for the feature, Petty would start on the pole. As the race went green the second place starter fired early as Petty slipped to the second spot. On an early race restart, Petty would check up to avoid contact with the leader, when he received contact form behind, which sent him spinning. As a result, Chandler had to restart at the back of the pack. Over the next few laps, Petty was already back up to the second spot when the rearend locked up, which twisted the drive shaft into two pieces, bringing his night to an early end in the 7th position. July 16th, 2011 - Chandler made the first trip of his career to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on Saturday night for a NeSmith Weekly Late Model Series Event. Twenty cars entered the event, and Petty started the night by qualifying 14th fastest in the twenty car field. His qualifying performance left him starting seventh in the heat, and that's where he would finish. Petty started 14th in a caution-plagued feature, and would survive the attrition to work his way up to the sixth position late in the race. However, bad luck would find Chandler with just seven laps remaining, when the competitors in front of him got together. Petty would slow down, but the car behind him would not as he plowed into the back of Chandler's car, resulting in heavy damage to the rearend of the car. He would retire to a 17th place finish. This weekend we traveled to greenville. we qaulified 14th out of 20 cars . so we started 7th in the heat race and finished 7th. so we started 14th in the feature. we had 6 restarts on the first lap with all cars staying in the field . we got the car going really good in the feature with alot of changes to the car and i would say we had the fastest car. so they finally went single file restarts and we got up to 6th with about 7 laps in and the 4th and 5th place car got together so we stopped and were out of the wreck until the car behind us came plowing in about 3 seconds later and run completely under us breaking the fuel cell mounts and the whole rear end. so we didnt finish and was credited with a 17th place finish. but on a good note we just got the weekly results of the nesmith regional points and we are in 8th place now. we will be going to drew county this weekend July 9th, 2011 - The team entered a Weekly Racing Series Event on Saturday night at Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) in what would prove to be a successful night as he earned his sixth win of the year. After starting on the pole for his heat race, he led every lap to claim the win and the pole starting position for the feature. In the main event he would jump to the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back on his way to the win, which came by a straightaway over the field. July 3rd, 2011 - Chandler entered a pair of events over the holiday weekend with the first race being held at Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) on Friday night. A dry, one-groove track greeted competitors, and after finishing second in his heat race, he started in the fourth position for the main event. With the track conditions, double file restarts were hard on Petty as he kept getting put on the outside for the restarts, which shuffled him backwards to a 7th place finish. Full results are available at www.MaldenSpeedway.com. Saturday night found Chandler at Drew County Speedway, where he started seventh in his heat race. By the second lap he was already up to the fourth position, when contact from another car broke a tie rod, forcing him pitside. Via the heat race mishap, Petty had to start 12th in the feature, and on the second restart for the feature, Chandler would get on the breaks to miss a big wreck in front of him, when he received hard contact from behind, which resulted in torn up nose and a broke left front, tie rod. Despite the heavy damage, th car would still be driveable, and he would stay on the track, working his way as high as the fourth position before having a late race flat, ending what was a truly miserable night. June 24th, 2011 - Friday night found Chandler at Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) for another Weekly Racing Series Event. After recording a third place finish in heat race action, Petty started third in the feature. He would advance to the second spot early in the feature as he pressured the leader, Kyle Berry, for the lead. Petty would have a much better car than the leader, but on a one groove track, he would be unable to make the pass, and had to settle for a second place finish. Full results are available at www.MaldenSpeedway.com. On Saturday night the team had tow vehicle problems, and as a result did not get to race anywhere. June 17th, 2011 - Friday night saw Chandler parking his #47 Late Model in victory lane once again as he claimed his first win of the year at Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri). Ten cars entered the NeSmith Weekly Racing Series event, and in heat race action, Petty started in the fourth position and claimed the win, which earned him the second starting spot for the feature. The first lap of the main event would be rough for Petty as he would be door-slammed by another car forcing him up the track, and allowed a pair of cars to slip by. By lap 2, Petty would recover from the incident and race his way to the front of the pack. The first caution flag would fly on lap 7, and by then Petty held a straightaway lead on the field. Two more cautions would erase large leads, but it would not matter as he would charge to the win over Mason Oberkramer and Kyle Berry. The victory was his fifth of the 2011 season! Full results are available at www.MaldenSpeedway.com June 11th, 2011 - Saturday night found Chandler at Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) for a NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Event. After making several changes on the car to improve the handling and performance, the team was eager for the event, and it would prove to be a great outing. After starting ninth in his heat race, Petty drove to the front of the pack to claim the win, which locked him into the pole starting spot for the main event. Chandler would grab the lead and would go on to lead all of the laps as he overcame a late race challenge from the second place runner to claim the win, which was his fourth triumph of the season. Full results are available at www.DrewCountySpeedway.us. June 4th, 2011 - It was another busy weekend for Chandler as he entered a pair of events on a very hot weekend. Friday night found him in action at Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) where after starting on the pole for his heat, he got spun, which caused the car to overheat. As a result he retired from the heat race and started last in the feature. In the first 5 laps of the main event he would advance to the second spot before a car flipped out of turn one. The accident resulted in a lengthy yellow flag and under the yellow flag the car began to overheat once again. As the event finally resumed green flag action, the car would continue to overheat, and Petty decided to retire from the race to save his equipment. He was credited with a fourth place finish. Saturday night the team entered a Weekly Racing Series Event at Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas). In heat race action, Chandler finished second after starting fourth, which locked him into the second starting spot for the main event. He would hold down the runner-up spot for the duration of the event, and that's where he would cross the finish line behind race winner, Travis Ashley. With the weekend completed, Chandler is now 18th in the NeSmith Western Division Crate Late Model standings May 29th, 2011 - Sunday night found Chandler Petty Motorsports at Centerville Speedway (Centerville, Arkansas) for a $750 to win, NeSmith Weekly Racing Series event. After starting on the pole in his heat race, Petty won his heat race. He was scheduled to start on the front row for the feature, however, the field was inverted, which left him starting fourth beside Bill Frye. Petty would battle an ill-handling car for the duration of the feature before finishing in the fourth position. The Photos section has been updated with a couple of shots. May 28th, 2011 - Chandler returned to action in a NeSmith Weekly Racing Series event at Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas). After starting fifth in his heat race, Petty advanced to a second place finish, which left him starting fourth in the main event. Petty had a good car for the main event, but with a track that lended itself to little passing he would only manage a third place finish. Saturday at drew county we started 5th in the heat race and finished 2nd. so we started 4th in the feature and finished 3rd. we had alot of cars there. you could only run on the bottom and we were stuck on the outside on every restart so it was very difficult to pass and our car just wasnt that great. sunday at centerville we started on the pole for the heat race and won. in the feature they inverted the field so we started 4th right beside Bill Frye and Johnny Virden in tow. again our car just wasn't that good. we put a new shock on the front left rear and i think that hurt us. but we managed to hang on to a 4th place finish. May 21st, 2011 - Chandler traveled to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) on Saturday night for a Weekly Racing Series Event in his #47 Crate Late Model. Despite periods of light rain throughout the night the event was able to be held, and in heat race action Petty moved from his fourth starting spot to a second place finish to earn a front row starting spot for the feature. By the time that the field exited turn two on the first lap he was in the lead, and when the first caution flew on lap 10, he had a full straightaway lead. Petty would endure another caution with two laps to go, but would still race to a ten car length win, which came over Zane Ferrell and Cody Kierre. The victory was his third of the 2011 season! May 14th, 2011 - Saturday night found Chandler in action at Centerville Speedway (Centerville, Arkansas) for a NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Event. Chandler would start last in the heat via the pill draw and would advance to a third place finish. With an invert being implemented for the feature, Petty would started fourth on the grid. He would waste little time making his way to the front of the pack as he was going to hte lead on lap 3 when the car behind him, made heavy contact causing him to spin out and collect another car, resulting in heavy body damage down the right side of the car. The crew would work feverishly under the caution to patch the car back together so that Petty could rejoin the tail of the field. Despite having a wounded entry, Chandler would quickly work his way through the field as he caught the leader with two laps to go. However, he wouldn't be able to make the pass for the lead and had to settle for a second place finish. With his Saturday night performance, Chandler now leads the track points at Centerville Speedway. May 7th, 2011 - After being rained out at NEA Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) Chandler Petty Motorsports traveled to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, AR). After starting second in his heat race Chandler motored away from the field to win the race by a straightaway. Via his heat race perfmance, he started on the pole for the feature. At the start of the race, Petty jumped to a five car length advantage before the race was slowed by a serious of cautions on an extremely rough track. As the race progressed, Chandler noticed the handling on his car beginning to go away, and with three laps remaining he would push exiting turn two, which allowed Mark Tice to move past him to claim the top spot. Chandler would go on to finish in the second position, and after the event the team discovered the right front control arm was bent badly causing the front end to have too much toe out, which ultimatley was the cause of the ill-handling car. The team will try again next Saturday at Centerville Speedway (Centerville, Arkansas). April 30th, 2011 - For the second straight week, Chandler would see the event that he was slated to enter nixed by Mother Nature as the racing program scheduled for Centerville Speedway (Centerville, Arkansas) fell victim to rain. April 23rd, 2011 - The team was slated to enter a NeSmith Weekly Late Model Series Event on Saturday night at Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas), but heavy rains during the course of the week forced the race to be canceled. April 16th, 2011 - Chandler was back in action on Saturday night at Centerville Speedway (Centerville, Arkansas) in a Weekly Racing Series Event. In heat race action, Petty advanced from his fourth starting spot to a second place finish, which earned him the pole for the feature event. Chandler would have a decent car for the feature but got roughed up early in the event and then spent much of the event navigating lapped cars. He would ultimately finish in the third position.
April 2nd, 2011 - Saturday night was a big night for 15 year-old racer, Chandler Petty as he claimed his first Crate Late Model win in just his seventh start at Centerville Speedway (Centerville, Arkansas). In heat race action, Petty started on the front row for his heat race before slipping to a third place finish. His heat race performance left him starting fourth in the feature, but he would waste little time working his way to the lead as he used the high groove to claim the lead on the first circuit. Even though he would lead all 20 laps, his win would be far from easy as racing veteran, Johnny Virden, pressured him the full distance to the checkered flag as the duo battle side-by-side with Petty on the high side and Virden working the hub. At the finish line Petty would inch ahead to claim the win by a car length over Virden. March 26th, 2011 - The team made the last minute decision to travel to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) for the grand reopening of the facility. With eight cars entered into the NeSmith Weekly Late Model Series event, Chandler started eighth in his heat race on an extremely dry track surface. He would advance to a fourth place finish, which earned him the fourth starting spot for the main event. By the third circuit Petty was up to the second position. With an engine that wasn't at full power Petty would still race his way to a strong second place finish on the lightning fast surface. March 24th, 2011 - Welcome to the launch of the Official Internet Home of Chandler Petty at www.ChandlerPetty.com. Chandler, who hails from Austin, Arkansas is 15 years old and is currently beginning his fifth year of racing. In 2011, he is competing full time in the NeSmith Crate Late Model division in his #47 Chandler Petty Motorsports/Crate Late Model. He opened his 2011 season last weekend at Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) in the Bootheel 200. On Friday night Petty qualified 6th fastest and that resulted in him starting 4th in his heat race. He would end up with a 4th place finish in the heat which earned him the 7th starting position for Saturday night's feature. Despite brake issues in the feature he would advance through the pack for a solid third place finish behind event winner, Kyle Berry, and Shane Stephens. Overall, it was a great start to the year for the young driver. |
